As educators and parents, we know that our students have different needs. In light of our district vision of ensuring the success of each and every student, we are partnering with another high-quality resource. In collaboration with MindPeace, a non-profit organization committed to improving mental health care for children, the team from Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) was selected to assist us.
Today’s students have a myriad of stresses beyond academic concerns. In fact, from time to time our kids may need help with social/emotional issues or concerns that are impacting their well-being at school, home, or with family members. We are partnering with Cincinnati Children’s to provide professional support and therapy services for students who may be suffering from depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, etc.
Families can confidentially reach out to their school counselor to find out more information about how this new program works and how to gain access to the resources CCHMC provides. School counselors may also access this resource for a student in need with parental permission.
The partnership with Cincinnati Children’s and their services do not require any financial support from the school district. Students and families needing services can cover therapy visits through private insurance, Medicaid, or private pay options. Assistance may be available for families experiencing financial difficulty.
If you are interested in this service for your child, please contact your child's school counselor. For more information about this partnership contact Kevin Wright, Director of Student Services at 513.272.4140 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
