As educators and parents, we know that our students have different needs. In light of our district vision of ensuring the success of each and every student, we are partnering with another high quality resource. In collaboration with MindPeace, a non-profit organization committed to improving mental health care for children, the team from CCHMC was selected to assist us.
Today’s students have a myriad of stresses beyond academic concerns. In fact, from time to time our kids may need help with social / emotional issues or concerns that are impacting their happiness at school, home, or with family members. We are partnering with Cincinnati Children’s to provide professional support and therapy services for students who may be suffering from depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, etc..
Families can confidentially reach out to their school counselor to find out more information about how this new program works and how to gain access to the resources CCHMC provides. School counselors may also access this resource for a student in need with parental permission.
The partnership with Cincinnati Children’s and their services does not require any financial support from the school district. Students and families needing services can cover therapy visits through private insurance, Medicaid, or private pay options. Assistance may be available for families experiencing financial difficulty.
The two licensed CCHMC therapists working in our schools will be Suzanne Domizio and Amy Bodley. Suzanne Domizio is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with 13 years of service with CCHMC, and will be supporting students at MES on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Amy Bodley is a Licensed Independent Social Worker-S (LISW-S) with over 14 years of service with CCHMC and will be at MMS on Mondays and Wednesdays. Amy will also be at MHS on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Both Suzanne and Amy will collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, school psychologists, and school counselors to create safe, healthy and supportive environments that strengthen the connections between home, school and community. We welcome them both to the Madeira team!
