On behalf of the students, staff and Board of Education of Madeira City Schools, thank you for visiting our website.
Madeira City Schools has been educating the students of our community for over 85 years. The achievements and accomplishments of our students, which have been recognized for excellence both locally and nationally, are due to great teachers, involved parents and a supportive community. Various support organizations such as the PTA, Music and Athletic Boosters and the Madeira Schools Foundation provide substantial resources to help support both the curriculum and extracurricular programs.
Madeira is consistently among the top performers on the Ohio Achievement and Graduation Tests, recently earning the Excellent rating on the State Report Card for the twelfth consecutive year. Additionally, Madeira Elementary School was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2007. Our extracurricular programs in the fine arts and athletics as well as clubs and service groups provide our students opportunities to become well-rounded individuals.
The support of our community is evident. Funds from the overwhelming passage of a 2004 bond issue were used to build a new elementary and middle school as well as to completely renovate our high school. In 2006 our community approved an operating levy to provide our students with a high quality education.
Beyond this support, since 2007, residents and friends of Madeira Schools have raised and/or donated nearly $1.5 million to renovate our high school athletic complex. In addition, a large private donation has allowed us to make renewable energy improvements, including the installation of geothermal technology.
Whether you are a long time Madeira resident or new to our community, we believe you will find Madeira City Schools provides a high quality personalized education while managing district finances in a fiscally responsible manner.
