| New Director of Student Services |
|
The Madeira City School Board recently approved Mr. Kevin Wright as the district’s new Director of Student Services. Kevin is joining Madeira City Schools from Lebanon City Schools where he served as their Director of Pupil Personnel/Student Services. Prior to this position, he was a Coordinator of Special Education in Loveland City Schools. Kevin has a background in School Psychology and has served students in both Mason City Schools and Hamilton City Schools.
Mr. Wright will replace Dr. Lisa Surace who resigned in February to move to New Jersey where her husband accepted a coaching position at Princeton University. Kevin has been transitioning to the district throughout the summer with plans for a parent meet-and-greet in early August. Superintendent Steve Kramer states, "We're excited about Kevin Wright joining our team. His outstanding communication and collaborative skills will benefit our students, parents and teachers."
Mr. Wright was among 35 candidates screened and interviewed for the position by a team of parents, teachers and administrators that began last spring. The Director of Student Services position includes providing support in the areas of Special Education, Help Me Grow, Preschool, 504/Intervention Plans, ESL, Gifted, and Guidance. "I am truly honored to be joining a great district like Madeira,” said Wright. "I look forward to meeting the families that make up this great community, as well as working hard to ensure the district's vision of ensuring success for all students."
