Madeira Elementary
"Where learning is personalized and success is ensured."
Madeira Elementary School provides an excellent academic program for students in preschool through grade 4. Total enrollment at MES is approximately 600 students for the 2009-2010 school year.
The curriculum is designed to meet the developmental needs of the students at all ages while also challenging them to incorporate critical and creative thinking skills into their daily learning.
Our highly qualified teaching staff works closely with parents to create a close home/school partnership that maintains a focus on each individual student’s achievements. Each child also receives a well-rounded educational experience that includes classes in art, music, physical education, and technology.
To establish a firm foundation for future learning, all students receive a strong program focusing on reading, written expression, mathematics, science, and social studies. A solid literature based program extends to all subject areas with the use of fiction and nonfiction materials. Students learn by doing through inquiry based instruction, problem solving, and moving from hands-on concrete experiences to abstract reasoning.
Students in need of additional services such as special education or gifted education are able to participate in specialty designed programs. Other enrichment opportunities include field trips, assemblies, and special events held at the school or in the community.
We invite you to call the school if you have additional questions or if you would like to arrange a visit. We are proud of our accomplishments and welcome the opportunity to talk to you about our award winning school !
We believe that all students at Madeira Elementary School are learners whose needs are best met when home and school work in close cooperation and strive to provide an atmosphere which nurtures, challenges and develops the total child. It is our goal that all students will achieve to their maximum potential making it possible for them to become contributing members of society and lifelong learners.
