Madeira's New Theatre Arts Director

McKenna Flores

McKenna Flores is a 2011 graduate of Madeira High School. While attending MHS, Flores participated in Colorguard and Winterguard all four years – including choreographing as a student. She was involved in theatre arts and choreographed several shows she performed in. Flores was also a member of the MHS Choir and Select Vocal Ensemble.

McKenna attended Ohio University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Dance Performance & Choreography, and Middle Childhood Education. She has been a teacher in the Mt Healthy School District since 2016.

Flores brings a great deal of experience in theatre and dance to her new position at Madeira. She has been a guest teacher/choreographer in New Zealand, an intern with the Cincinnati Ballet, a lighting designer in Athens, and a Choreographer for Norwood Schools. She is currently serving as the Madeira Theatre Arts Interim Director and since 2018 has been the MHS Assistant Theatre Director and Choreographer. During the 2012-2013 school year, Flores also served as Madeira’s Colorguard Choreographer and Band Camp Coach.

Of her new position Flores stated, "As the Madeira Theatre Arts Director, I aim to support and strengthen a multi-faceted theatre education in students from all backgrounds and experiences.”

She was named the new director at the May 17 Madeira City School Board meeting.
