Honoring Our Senior Citizens

honorees with cast

An annual tradition at Madeira High School (MHS), Senior Citizens Day gives students in the school’s spring musical their first chance to perform the show in front of an audience. It also gives the district a chance to say thank you to its longtime supporters.

Each year several senior citizens are invited to the performance to be recognized before the show as Honorary Leading Men and Ladies. This year’s honorees were Carl & Carolyn Edington and Theresa Deters Gerard. They were treated to lunch after the Wednesday morning performance of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. They will also ride in this fall’s MHS Homecoming parade as the Board of Education’s honored guests.

Madeira has been honoring dedicated senior residents at the Senior Citizen Day for the past 30 years.
