As part of the celebration of Madeira City Schools’ 100th birthday, former leaders who played a big part in many of those years were recognized on May 16 – weeks before the district’s 100th graduating class received their diplomas.
Past Madeira City School Board members, Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and Treasurers were invited to dinner in Madeira High School’s cafeteria. Current Madeira Superintendent Kenji Matsudo updated the group on what the district has accomplished since their years of service to the district and thanked them for building the foundation on which its excellent reputation stands today.
“These past Board Members have laid such a strong foundation of excellence, been a champion for our teachers, and always worked to put students first,” Superintendent Matsudo stated. “They have given tirelessly to serve our community well and we wanted to thank them for playing such an important part in our first 100 years.”
After a brief tour of the upgrades in Medert Auditorium, the former board members were recognized at the regularly scheduled Madeira School Board meeting by the current school board members Paula Andruss, David Eberly, Ryan Lex, Rich Palmer, and Steve Bernicke.
