Students Take on Stock Market Challenge

32 Madeira High School students recently competed in the Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge alongside 97 teams from across the Greater Cincinnati area.

Madeira teams placed 1st, 3rd, 8th, 9th, 15th, and 25th in the competition, with multiple teams finishing in the top tier of the field. The first place team of Ben Reed, Blake Torggler, Sam Redlinger, and Liam Garza each earned a $2,500 scholarship and will represent Cincinnati at the National Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge in Boston this June. The third place team of Andrew Roy, Robby Lewis, Braeden Wallace, and Harrison Woolwine also earned recognition for their strong performance.

In a live simulation competition, students take what they learned in the classroom and apply it to the real world. The fast-paced matches are based on a fictional marketplace. Students can compete in teams or individually, in person or remotely.

The groups are led by Jennifer Jordan, MHS Business & Media Communications Teacher.
