Madeira City Schools will begin the 2019-2020 school year with a new leadership team. The School Board approved Dave Bergan as the district’s new Assistant Superintendent at their May 20 meeting. Bergan will join Superintendent Kenji Matsudo next year in leading the district, succeeding current Assistant Superintendent Tim Weber, who is taking over the role of Superintendent for Wyoming City Schools.
Mr. Bergan grew up Evendale and graduated from Princeton High School. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Miami University, and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati. He started his career in education as a Title I Math Specialist for Princeton City Schools, served as a seventh grade Math teacher and Assistant Principal at Mason City Schools, and most recently as a Principal, Director of Student Services, and Assistant Superintendent at Deer Park Community Schools.
He and his wife Barbie are the parents of Ben and Colin. Of his new role for the Madeira City School district, Mr. Bergan said,” I am extremely excited to join the Madeira team. I look forward to getting to know the community and working hard for the students, staff, and families of Madeira.”
Superintendent Matsudo said he was pleased with Bergan’s selection. “I am confident Dave Bergan has the experience needed to continue the excellence in Madeira,” he stated. “I am eager to start working on building our new team – along with Treasurer Emily Hauser – to begin the 2019-2020 school year in full stride."
