The Madeira High School Class of 2020 has been anything but ordinary ..... in fact, they've been EXTRAORDINARY! So it's fitting that this great group of kids would have an epic finish to their Madeira experience. The talent, the heart, and the special bonds made over the years of the 101 members of the Madeira High School Senior Class of 2020 will not be extinguished. During this unprecedented time in our nation's history, our end of the year traditions have had to be adjusted or changed, but the seniors and their parents have been steadfast, patient, and determined to head to the finish line Madeira Strong!
Here's what we planned for the Class of 2020!
Madeira Senior Cap and Gown Drop
Saturday, May 2
Beginning at 12:00 pm
Madeira administration and staff visited all senior homes to deliver cap, gown, medals, and cords to each graduate. Administrators wore masks and gloves and practiced social distancing. Seniors received their Cap and Gown, Graduation Medals and Cords, and a Senior Treat.
Top Seniors Virtual Signing Day
Wednesday, May 6 - 3:30 pm
Top Seniors and families, along with staff, logged on to this virtual meeting where all 38 Top Seniors put pen to paper and signed certificates symbolizing their commitments to learning institutions across the country. This event included a compilation video of each senior sharing their plans and commitments which was released on various social media platforms and the district website following the event and can be seen at Top Seniors Virtual Signing Day.
Senior Superlatives & Class Video Night!

Live Video Streaming Event
A link was sent out for seniors, their families and friends, and community members to watch the premiere of the Senior Class video that celebrated every senior in the Class of 2020! MHS Class of 2020 “Senior Porch Pics”
Each senior family was able to celebrate and honor their senior by having a professional family picture taken by Joe Shults with the graduate in cap and gown, adorned with cords, pins, and medals, and senior memory board - even decorated porches! Seniors received Senior Awards, Superlatives, MMS “Letters to Me”, Made in Madeira T-Shirts, and more! Zones were created for each day and families signed up for specific times.
MHS Senior Send-Off!
Friday, May 15
Time – Schedule below
Students were invited to voluntarily drive by each of our three schools for a special farewell on their final day of classes - many in decorated cars. The class was divided into thirds and followed a mapped-out schedule. Strict social distancing rules were followed. Students were not allowed to get out of their cars and any staff members present wore masks.

Commencement In-Person Roll Call/Video Recording
Saturday, May 23
This event was an in-person “roll call” of the Seniors and their parents on a beautiful day at MHS. The Class of 2020 was divided into groups of students/families and assigned times to come to the high school. The roll call included each student’s name being called as they walk across Romano Courtyard with their family in the front row, then exited back to cars. A photographer took photos of each graduate as well. Strict social distancing rules were followed.
