Find an adventure in every book! 

 Your child should be reading 20 minutes daily.  However, don’t forget the importance of reading aloud to your child.  Besides the comforting sounds of a parent’s voice, there are many benefits.  Your child sees that books are important to you.  When you model expression and fluency, it delivers a strong message to the child that these qualities add to the story, even add meaning and interest.  When you read books that interest your child but are at a higher reading level, your child is exposed to new words that expand your child’s vocabulary.  I could go on, but you know the best reasons.  You get to snuggle and share wonderful adventures.  Enjoy!
